Cross-Country U.S. Road Trip!

We are kicking off our long-term travel adventure by driving across the U.S. in my 2007 Saturn Ion (don’t worry, we got it serviced recently and are hopeful it will make it)!

We’ll start in Sacramento, of course, once we’ve packed up our house and put our stuff into storage in Fresno in early August. We’ll take the (mostly) southern route, visiting friends and family along the way, and end up in the town of Marcellus, New York, where Aaron’s parents (my AWESOME in-laws) live, where we’ll store our car while we’re abroad. We’ll then join his side of our family for a week-long relaxation endeavor in the Poconos, Pennsylvania, before getting to New York City by bus or train. After spending a few days there (and we’ll make it a point to visit our “spot” in Central Park, where he proposed in 2013 and we haven’t made it back to since), we’ll fly to Miami (where I’ve always wanted to go to check out the beaches and nightlife, for some unknown reason — and yes, your sentiments are correct that I hope to run into Pitbull while we’re there). After spending several days exploring Miami, we’ll fly straight to Mexico City and begin immersing ourselves into the Spanish language and culture!

Stay tuned!

Until next time,
Elena 🙂
