Portrait

I am an Athletics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Certified Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer, an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Group Fitness Instructor, a Licensed Zumba® Fitness Instructor, a Certified Tabata Bootcamp™ Trainer, and a Certified Barre Above® Instructor. I have been teaching group fitness classes since 2009. My experience as a Group Fitness Instructor includes: Zumba® Fitness, Cardio Kickboxing, Step Aerobics, Tabata GX™, Barre Above®, and cardio/strength/endurance combination formats. I also lead small group training sessions in 6-8 week increments through the Tabata Bootcamp™ program. *Please note: I also offer Virtual Bootcamp program sessions (100% online)!*

I rent out studio space at The Firehouse5 and Tango On Broadway to teach my onsite fitness classes, although I am only offering pop-up, drop-in classes at this time due to my role as the Health & Wellness Program Director for a local non-profit community center/fitness facility as of February 2018 (I am teaching regular group fitness classes there, so please contact me for more details if you’d like to check them out).

World Traveler

My husband, Aaron, and I embarked upon a journey of authentic, long-term travel, which included volunteer and work exchange opportunities and ongoing cultural and language immersion, from August 2016-December 2017. It was an epic, life-altering experience through which we were fortunate to have together. Check out our blog to learn more!

Crochet Hobby-ist & Enthusiast

With fitness gradually growing out of my side-gig and into my primary career focus (from human resources for 8 years), I knew I was going to need a new hobby! In Spring 2016, I took a 3-week beginner crochet course at local yarn shop, Rumplestiltskin, then worked on basic stitches to make scarves and hats. I crocheted while traveling when it was practical and accessible, visiting local yarn shops and making items for people I met, friends/family back home, and myself. I discovered a crochet podcast, BHooked, while house and pet-sitting in London suburbs in Summer 2017, through which I grew in my crochet craft significantly. I learned how to read and follow a written pattern, about the Craft Yarn Council‘s Certified Instructor’s program, tips and tricks, etc. I am almost a Certified Crochet Instructor (I’ve passed the practical portion and am working on my teaching hours currently). My goal is to cultivate a crochet community by starting a new program at the local community center/fitness facility where I work full-time while also teaching Learn to Crochet classes independently, in addition to sharing my work with others. I made an inventory and hosted my first crochet craft booth in September, started my Etsy shop, continually crochet items upon request from friends and family, and love making, sharing, and being a part of the maker and crochet community on Instagram.
